Finishing touches

May 9, 2022

FCHO resident Michelle McDonald had purchased a cooker hood for her new kitchen, but was worried that if she fitted it herself that she might ruin the plastering or painting.

Emanuel Whittaker Joiner Matthew Mott, kindly offered to fit Michelle’s cooker hood, leaving her with a kitchen that was more than she could have dreamed of.

Michelle was very grateful.

Complimentary Container…

May 9, 2022

As part of Emanuel Whittaker’s pledge to deliver Legacy Projects, we donated a storage unit to The Chatterbox Project in Blackley.

Katie Raw, Regeneration Officer at Northwards Housing, sighnposted the Emanuel Whittaker team to Sue Asprey, who volunteers at The Chatterbox Project. Sue explained that the project needed a portable storage unit, which would free up areas inside. So Emanuel Whittaker purchased and assembled a container inside the courtyard at The Chatterbox Project.

Sue went on to say: We have been able to use the cabin to store all the things we need to do various community outdoor events/fun days and outreach.  We call it our ‘Activities Container’.  It was a much needed resource that we have been trying to fund for over 10 years.  It will directly benefit Chatterbox in supporting the community for many years to come.

We sincerely thank you for all your support and will be eternally grateful.

The Chatterbox Project, based in Blackley, North Manchester, offers various community activities including: Adult and Toddler group (Tots Stay & Play); Community gardening; Baby exercise classes; Art classes; Food pantry; Sewing course; Morrisso Health Classes, and many more.

Cladding… covered!

May 9, 2022

Emanuel Whittaker pledged to spend £10k on Legacy Projects as part of carrying out the Low Rise FRA project for Northwards Housing.  Northwards Housing Regeneration Officer, Katie Raw, suggested we replace the cladding on the Turkey Lane & Monsall Neighbourhood Centre to fulfil our commitment.

The cladding, which has lasted 40 years, was rotten in parts, and beyond repair. So Emanuel Whittaker were delighted to be able to deliver the much needed replacement cladding and upgrading the building.  Ken Moran, Manager of the TLM Centre is over the moon with the new look.

The TLM Centre, based on the Monsall Estate in Manchester, is a voluntary organisation run by a committee who manage and administer the centre and provide various services for the community, including a Computer Drop-in; Drama Group; Over 50’s Group; Junior Youth Club; Playgroup; Poetry Workshop; Savings Club; Women’s Activity Group; Playscheme; Family Social Bingo and Pop-up Sports.

Crash Site …

May 9, 2022

When Emanuel Whittaker Contracts Manager, Mark Coyle received a call from Great Places Senior Contract Surveyor, Colin Leddie, to ask if we could assist with an emergency repair… A speeding van had swerved across the road at Washbrook in Oldham to avoid colliding with a car and ploughed through the front elevation of a resident’s home.

Miraculously nobody was injured, but the property was structurally damaged requiring major repair works.  Emanuel Whittaker have been busy over the last few weeks putting this property back together again.

Great Places resident Mrs Cecilia Anderson is over the moon with the completed job and so are Colin and his team at Great Places.
