Recycled Records

Mar 22, 2022

Salix Homes resident, William Dunden, decided to have a clear out whilst he was having his new kitchen fitted.

William was keen to offload a collection of unwanted vinyl records, so Emanuel Whittaker Resident Liaison Officers Vicky Gee and Garry Holt offered to take them off his hands and see if anyone wanted them. As nobody had a record player, they took them to the local charity shop.

Vicky and Garry had fun reading the covers, which brought back happy memories of some great days buying records by some fantastic artists.

Double delight

The Emanuel Whittaker site team has been working closely with FCHO resident Sharon Dyson since works started on her home in October last year.  Sharon was down to have a new kitchen, wet room and separate WC.  But Sharon explained to the team how she really wanted to be able to relax in a bath, and longed for a soak in a hot bubble bath.

After a few emails to FCHO, the team were able to make her dreams a reality, and she was given a new bathroom. Sharon was overjoyed when she was told the good news!

On a more recent visit, Emanuel Whittaker Resident Liaison Officer Courtney Greatorex realised that it was Sharon’s Birthday. So the team decided to make Sharon’s day and surprise her with a card and gifts wishing her a Happy Birthday!

Helping Hand

Feb 22, 2022

Poor health made preparing for a new kitchen very difficult for FCHO resident, Cecilia McAdam.

So Emanuel Whittaker Resident Liaison Officer, Courtney Greatorex and Site Manager, Ian Spence, helped to pack up her entire kitchen. But they made sure to keep a table with tea, coffee, sugar, microwave and toaster etc. for her to use whilst the works were being done.

Also, Emanuel Whittaker Labourers, Ben Senior and Steve Gallagher removed Cecilia’s old washing machine to make space for her new one, and moved boxes to create access. When the works were complete, they put everything back before they left.

The Emanuel Whittaker team went above and beyond and even stayed after hours to make sure Cecilia was comfy while works proceeded, even down to vacuuming and taking bags of rubbish to the tip.

Cecilia is truly grateful and is so happy with her new kitchen!

… and another happy customer

Lauren Walker’s new cooker hood hadn’t arrived when Emanuel Whittaker came to fit her new kitchen and bathroom… and it still hadn’t arrived when the works were complete. So Emanuel Whittaker Site Supervisor, Steven Bowers, went back a week after handover to install her new cooker hood.

Thanks Steven for adding those all-important finishing touches.

Double Vision…

Feb 21, 2022

After having her new bathroom fitted, FCHO resident Helen Atogbeji bought a couple of mirrored cabinets to add to her lovely new room.

When the Emanuel Whittaker team realised that Helen didn’t have the correct tools to erect the cabinets herself, they offered to help put them up for her.

Helen is over the moon with the professional job!
