Pots Planted

Aug 30, 2023

JB Roofing’s, Matt Hollinshead, noticed all the care and attention that had gone into Rectory Green’s memorial garden over the summer months and offered up some reclaimed chimney pots from a previous job that he thought might look nice planted.

Rectory Green resident and main tender to the garden, Joan Eastwood, said that it is a wonderful idea and later that week the pots were in place, planted and looking grand.

Recycle Reuse

Aug 30, 2023

With so many deliveries coming with materials for our continued work at Rectory Green, we often have pallets that need discarding.

Retired resident, Gerald Williams, asked if he could have four to use on his allotment, to construct a compost bin.

Site Manager, John Millward, arranged for Emanuel Whittaker Joiner, Mick Crossan, to drop them off at the nearby allotment, to save Gerald the trouble.

Gerald said that it was totally unexpected and greatly appreciated and will be a useful addition to his allotment.

Finishing Touches

Jul 12, 2023

Some new additions had been purchased for Block 1’s memorial garden.

The Emanuel Whittaker site team assisted with, mounting hanging basket brackets, installing wire fencing along with some planting.

Rectory Green resident, Joan Eastwood, popped into the site office with fresh cream cakes and fruit the next day along with a thank you card for our help.

Keep It Clean!

Jul 12, 2023

Emanuel Whittaker have recently set up a Site Compound for a new job in Longsight for Great Places.

The site compound is suffering with fly tipping and anti social behaviour on an evening and weekend.

Emanuel Whittaker Resident Liaison Officer, Neil Lancaster, decided to have a good clean up around the site.

The residents are really pleased that the area is now clean and tidy!

First Aid Provided…

First Aid assistance provided at Rectory Green

Emanuel Whittaker Joiner, Mick Crossan, found PNWHA resident, Michael Probert collapsed in his vehicle. An ambulance was called, by covering Site Manager, Paul Robinson, while Michael was kept warm and reassured and his head supported by Mick, Paul & Resident Liaison Officer, Garry Holt, until the ambulance arrived.

The Site Team then went on to move Michael’s van into a safe parking space, they liaised with Michael’s partner and returned the van keys to his property.

A text was received from Michael’s partner, Jackie, over the weekend which read –

I just wanted to thank you for your help on Thursday, finding Mike in his van and ringing the ambulance. I Think you saved his life. I cant thank you enough for moving his van too. He is still in hospital and getting the right treatment. Thank you!

Along with another text several days later, letting us know that Mike is still in hospital awaiting a triple heart bypass!

This was followed by a visit to site by Mike’s brother, Stephen, to thank the team personally.

We are all wishing Mike a speedy recovery!
