Legacy Project
Sep 28, 2021Northward Housing held a Green Day event on the 31st July at Exbridge Walk, Newton Heath.
Emanuel Whittaker has pledged to carry out Legacy Projects as a result of carrying out the Low Rise FRA project.
Our first legacy project was to work with the Community Garden Group at 19 Exbridge Walk.
The rear garden had become overgrown and the communal area at the side was unkempt with timber planters, lawns and shrubs in need of a little TLC.
Emanuel Whittaker Contracts Manager, Greg Martin, visited the site and agreed with Marlene at the Eco Youth Centre that we would clear the rear Garden area, cut back bushes, in effect re-claiming the garden whilst also improving the communal space ready for the 31st July festivities.
You can see from our before and after shots how successful the Legacy Project has been.
Since 2002, Marlene has run ‘Eco Youth’ – a group for local children to get involved with gardening and other activities, has worked closely with us and Northwards Housing on this project. Marlene commented – “Thank you so much for the transformation of the community garden, we were able to hold a fun day on the green and the residents all commented on how nice it looks. We had approximately 150 attend, and a good time was had by all. Once again, thank you to Contracts Director John Gallagher and all at Emanuel Whittaker, as well as Scott and Mathew the gardeners from Bradley Green Tree and Garden Services.”

Cakes for Charles Forbes Court
Aug 25, 2021Works are due to start shortly at Charles Forbes Court in Warrington for MSV.
So Emanuel Whittaker Resident Liaison Officer, Neil Lancaster, has been busy carrying out pre-entry ‘Getting to Know You’ surveys. Neil has been helped by MSV’s very own Claire, who has helped enormously with access.
So as a thank you to Claire, and all the residents, Neil supplied them with some cakes for their upcoming coffee morning.
Claire and all the residents are looking forward to welcoming our site team to Charles Forbes Court when we start shower room replacements in September.

#keepitclean
Aug 25, 2021Despite everyone’s efforts to stop this unpleasant and hazardous activity, fly tipping and littering continue for residents’ of Gorton.
One resident awoke to find an old suitcase littering her driveway…
Thankfully Emanuel Whittaker Site Manager, Neil Wignall was on hand to clear the suitcase from the residents’ drive.

Lucky Charm…
Aug 25, 2021After having a new fire door fitted at Victoria Square, a resident was upset that her lucky horse shoe could not be re-fitted.
But her luck was in, and an Emanuel Whittaker joiner re-fixed the horseshoe to the brickwork at the side of the resident’s property.
The customer is over the moon!

Megan’s a mover!
Aug 25, 2021When Salix Resident, Malatry, moved in to Oakhill Court, she discovered that her sofa was too big to move in with her!
Not to worry… Emanuel Whittaker Joiner, Megan Boygle, was more than happy to help!
Megan temporarily removed the flat entrance door and helped Malatry to move her sofa.
Malatry was very grateful with Megan’s kind gesture.
