Little acts of kindness

Oct 22, 2024

Salix Homes resident, Kevin, was very excited about the upcoming bathroom adaptation works by Emanuel Whittaker and asked if we could also kindly install an outside tap, so that him and his neighbour could easily water the plants and look after their garden.

Once again, our Subcontractor, Liam (LGH), was happy to assist.

Kevin was very thankful for this kind gesture.

Little acts of Kindness

Emanuel Whittaker Resident Liaison Officer, Vicky Gee, thought that helping One Manchester resident, Margaret Taylor, put out her rubbish, shows both kindness and a sense of community.

It’s a kind act that can make a big difference to someone who may struggle with physical tasks.

Small gestures like this can have a positive impact on both the person receiving the help and the one giving it.

Margaret was really appreciative and is also thrilled with her new kitchen!

Community Spirit

Emanuel Whittaker Site Manager, Phil Taylor and Resident Liaison Officer, Sarah Kershaw, held a coffee morning for the residents at Douglas Leatham House in Blackpool, prior to work commencing to replace flat entrance doors.

All residents attended with scheme staff and Great Places.

We had a lovely morning, the residents found it really informative and were able to raise any concerns in advance to the works taking place.

Community Care

Oct 22, 2024

Every year, the month of September is dedicated to the little ones for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Organisations such as schools, hospitals, etc. hold a coffee morning either on the 26th or 27th, to fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Support.

As a way of supporting our community, we donate yearly to local schools for this important event and this year we have once again supported The Cathedral School of St Peter & St John RC Primary, with delicious cakes and a cash donation collected by the Emanuel Whittaker team and trades (LGH).

The envelope was handed to the Head Teacher, Mrs Hanley, who was very thankful and honoured to be the chosen school once again.

Mrs Hanley, alongside her committed team of teachers and pupils appreciated this gesture, as this kind donation will go towards helping families in the local community.
