Our No.1 Fan…
Sep 17, 2025
Tonge Court Resident, Lillian Smith, popped into our site office for some help; she had just bought a hand held fan, which arrived with no charger.
Lillian was disappointed, as the weather had been so warm recently.
After a quick search in our filing cabinet, Site Manager, Dwayne Taylor, found a suitable redundant cable that fitted the fan perfectly; a beaming Lillian was over the moon and had the fan operational in no time.

Rubbish Removed
Sep 17, 2025
Tonge Court Resident, Lillian Smith, was off to the ground floor refuse room from her first floor flat with a couple of bags of waste.
Emanuel Whittaker Joiner, Ian Hall, collected them from her as he was heading in that direction and disposed of them on her behalf.
The ever-cheerful Lillian said thanks for saving her the trip, adding that Ian will make someone a good husband one day.

Helping hand

Tonge Court Resident, Val Lewis, has been saving her loose change in a sealed tin moneybox for months and had decided that today was the day for opening it up.
Unfortunately for Val, this was proving more difficult than she expected, due to the size and weight of the tin.
Not a problem for Emanuel Whittaker Joiner, Kieran Grogan, who assisted Val and got the tin open. Kieran even taped up the sharp edges around the tin once opened, to prevent any cuts or injury.
A beaming Val could not thank us enough before trotting off back to her flat for a reckoning up.

Washing away the worries
Sep 17, 2025
Tonge Court residents Kath Anglin & Pat Turner had previously purchased a small clothes spinner for all residents to use in the schemes communal laundry.
The ladies asked if we could dispose of the spinner, as it was no longer functional and long out of the guarantee period.
Emanuel Whittaker Joiner, Ian Hall, who is always happy to help, collected the item for recycling that same day, while both grateful ladies went about their laundry.

Jimmy’s Connected
Jul 23, 2025
The communal lounge is now closed until further notice at Tonge Court, due to our refurbishment works.
One resident, Jimmy Eyre, was particularly missing the use of the communal TV, as he could not get any of his own TV’s to work. So Emanuel Whittaker Resident Liaison Officer, Garry Holt, attended with RBH’s Independent Living Officer, Michelle Emerson, to see if we could be of assistance and to our surprise Jimmy had 5 TV’s that were not in use.
Through the process of elimination, we identified that 3 TV’s were no longer functional and discarded them on Jimmy’s behalf. We then managed to get one of the remaining televisions operational and tuned-in.
Jimmy was really pleased, so much so that we’ve hardly seen him in the main corridors since.
