Cycling Success
Oct 26, 2022
Whilst Emanuel Whittaker have been working at Alexandra Park for One Manchester, they have struck up a good relationship with a charitable organisation called “THE BIKE HIVE”, who are also based in the park.
For many years, The Bike Hive have been giving the people of Moss Side and the surrounding areas the opportunity to come to Alexandra Park and use one of the many bikes available. They cater for all ages and abilities, even offering specially adapted bikes and aim to get anyone onto a bike.
Ian, Carroll, Neil, Paul and the rest of The Bike Hive team also maintain and run workshops to show people how to look after and fix their own bikes. Emanuel Whittaker are always at hand to help and have even been known to go on bike rides, to offer their support.
The Bike Hive is a nonprofitable organisation and providing this service to the local community relies on charity, so all of The Bike Hive team are volunteers and give up their own free time.
Emanuel Whittaker thought it would be a nice gesture to make a donation to help keep this lovely service, which benefits the local community.

Greenhouse gift
Aug 23, 2022The residents at Pullman Close, Levenshulme began growing their vegetable plots during lockdown, and are justifiably proud of their efforts. They’ve been doing so well, they’ve now turned their skills to fundraising for a greenhouse, to start off their seedlings.
Whilst Emanuel Whittaker are working in the area, they kindly contributed to their fund and presented the organiser, Mike Wilkinson, with a cheque at one of their coffee mornings.

Happy Hats…
Jul 20, 2022Great Places resident, Anna Adams, is a keen knitter and regularly knits hats for premature babies at the neo-natal unit at St Mary’s Children Hospital.
Emanuel Whittaker Resident Liaison Officer, Sarah Kershaw, found what Anna was doing so inspiring, that she bought Anna some wool so that she could continue her efforts. Sarah also arranged transport to take Anna to the Children’s hospital to deliver the hats.
Well done to Anna and Sarah.
