The Black Friars – in touch with their spiritual side

Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end

Scott Adams

The Black Friar fundraising team are certainly coming up with some innovative and imaginative ways of raising money for Charity.

Spurred on by the support they’re getting from the residents in Blackfriar Court, the team hosted their latest fundraising initiative… a charity meditation evening.

Adam’s dear friend Edith Whelan already runs a meditation class, and kindly offered to hold a big charity meditation evening to help the team raise money for Charity. She donated her time and paid for the venue to hold the event.

Adam advertised the event on the team’s dedicated Facebook fundraising page, which prompted offers of support from a wide range of friends.

The amount of support was overwhelming, not only from those who attended the event, but from those who helped to raise funds for the team, and direct donations.

A well know British medium Mavis Pittilla kindly donated a gift certificate for a skype spiritual reading as a raffle prize for the event. Whilst Maureen Rochford and her daughter Katy who make handmade jewellery, donated a beautiful handmade spiritual locket.

Annette Miller aka Cupcake Angel carried out a Facebook Cupcake Auction and all proceeds went to the meditation evening, and also carried out an amazing auction on the night of prizes donated by supporters as well as residents from Blackfriar Court.

Residents were given free transport provided by Community Transport, and thoroughly enjoyed the event which raised a total of £746.15 for the Black Friars team.
