Minehead Garden Improvements

Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end

Southway Housing have gone all green fingered!  A team from the Neighbourhood Services department are planning to give up their time and deliver some much needed improvements to the Minehead Garden as part of a staff volunteering day.

The staff will help by giving the garden a general cleanup, with weeding, trimming and pruning what is there. They will then go on to build a new composting unit, clear out the shed, create hanging baskets, raise the flower beds, build a new path, and then plant the new beds.

As well as Southway staff time, the garden needs funds and materials to complete the major overhaul.  So Southway approached its partner contractors to ask for help.

Emanuel Whittakers were keen to assist and delivered eight solid scaffolding planks which can be used to raise the current brick flower beds.   They have also donated a variety of flower seeds and propagators to give a kick start to the planting.
