Strange brew…

Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end

Pennington residents enjoy a nice cuppa thanks to their new kettles

After Emanuel Whittaker finished the refurbishment at Pennington Close sheltered scheme, the residents were keen to get back into their old routines of hosting coffee morning and lunch clubs.

So imagine their disappointment when they started unpacking their old fixtures that had been held in storage for the duration of the works. It wasn’t that they were old and stood out amongst the shiny new facilities, but when they attempted to make a brew – it just didn’t taste right!

The residents mentioned the strange tasting brew to Site Manager John Millward, or maybe they were politely telling him he couldn’t have cuppa? John was quick to pick up on their sorry tale and went out and bought them a couple of shiny new replacement kettles.

The coffee mornings and bingo sessions are now as popular as ever, and John’s guaranteed a brew whenever he visits!
